JAPFEST 2023 RECAP

Where do we start?

We'd like to thank everyone for coming with us to Japfest on Sunday, we had an absolute blast! The weather stayed dry for us and only started to rain at the very end of the show. We had a grand total of 16 squares on our stand, the biggest number of cars in the 6 years we've been operating as a club, so an extra special thankyou to our awesome members! We had a couple of chops and changes last minute but still managed to fill the spaces thanks to our cancellations list! We had such a diverse line-up of squares; it really did make our stand, stand out! A very nice combination of Nissan Cubes, Toyota bBs, Honda Stepwagons, a Nissan Elgrand, Daihatsu Materia and even a Honda Logo!

Here are the photos of the squares on our stand, a special thank you to our club photographer Adam at Geared_Up_Photography for all of the footage!

We started the day off with a lovely wakeup call at 4am (who doesn't love getting up early for a car show!) and headed up to Cherwell Valley Services to meet some of our members for around 7am. We gave everyone plenty of time to have a bit of a stretch and plenty of time to grab a coffee because boy, did we all need it!

We left Cherwell Valley Service a bit earlier than expected as all of our members arrived quite early, we then had a short 25-minute-long convoy up to Silverstone. We encountered a bit of a queue (as predicted) but in no time we were soon through the Silverstone gates and on stand with our other members all by 9am! Everyone was straight out with the rags and giving our squares a good clean, by 10am the gates were open to the public and they flocked-in like it was a black Friday sale!

Once we had finished grabbing a few cheeky snaps of stand and finished cleaning our squares, we then went to go collect our Showguide to take a look at the planner for this year's event. Due to the on-going building work of the brand-new go kart area at Silverstone (due to open 2024) they had to readjust this year's event, which meant a slightly smaller show compared to the previous year, but it did not disappoint! The overnight rain also meant they had to move some stands around due to some grass areas being extremely damp, but this didn't affect the show one bit!

We went for a little gander through the trade village before they got swamped by the public and other automotive fans, after that we headed to the trackside to enjoy a bit of drifting on the first round. After that we continued to take a look round at the other stands on the outside of the track before heading to the inside main area where there were even more cars, club stands, food stalls and the live action arena!

During our time at Silverstone we had our admins out with our brand-new flyers doing our bit of "spotting", so if you came back to your car and it had one of our flyers on it, then make sure to look out on our socials as well as our club photographer's Geared_Up_Photography for your photos! It's our way of giving you a little something to look forward to after the show.

Here's a few photos from this year's Japfest!

Once again, we'd like to thank everyone that came with us, without you we wouldn't have a club nor a stand for this year's event, and we'd also like to thank everyone that came over and spoke to us and our members about our cars!

You'll be able to catch us again at Jap Show at Santa Pod on Sunday 14th May! Deadline for this event is fast approaching, if you're interested in attending this event with us then get in touch ASAP! It's square-ing up to be one hell of a club stand, could it be about to take the throne as our biggest club stand ever? Stay tuned, we're not far from announcing our line-up!

Thank you everyone!
